About the Project

With these three story-driven films for the Four Seasons Resorts in Vail, CO, we wanted to visualize the storylines of some key aspects of the location. In “Wonder,” we wanted to visually depict the experience of a couple in Vail, CO. In “Heartbeat,” the goal was to immerse the audience in the natural sounds of Vail. In “Dreams,” we wanted to tell the story of Vail from the eyes of two little boys.

My Role

With this production, I Produced, Directed and DP’ed. This type of production was quite unique in that fact that we had multiple actors of different skiing skills. A small challenge was trying to capture each necessary shot while understanding the abilities of your team and the kids.

Key Challenge

Our biggest challenge while in Vail, CO was dealing with the lack of snow in March. We did our best to frame shots that gave the appearance of a winter wonderland without exposing the dirt spots on certain hills. Even with that in mind, there were still a couple shots where we had to composite snow onto the hill. All in all, we had a blast producing this for the Four Seasons and look forward to future projects as they arise.
